Financial Inclusion

Building on our founding family’s heritage, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors guides donors who are committed to ensuring that all people have access to the financial, technological and entrepreneurial resources necessary to create financial stability in their lives.

We help individual and institutional donors engage banks, microfinance programs, credit unions, technology experts, policymakers and regulators in their quest to advance financial inclusion. Our skilled and experienced staff help our clients establish clear, attainable goals; connect with promising organizations and leaders globally; fulfill their grantmaking needs worldwide; and objectively assess results.

Our work, developed over the past decade, includes research, grants, program management and charitable investments across 20 countries: Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ghana, Greece, India, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam.

This work has been accomplished with a committed set of core funding partners that include JPMorgan Chase, DFS Africa, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, MetLife Foundation, MasterCard Foundation, Omidyar Network, and USAID, among others.

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ Financial Inclusion agenda is furthered by initiatives we manage in related fields including the SDG Philanthropy Platform and Scaling Solutions.
