Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors helps donors create thoughtful, effective philanthropy throughout the world. Originally developed as the private philanthropy service of the Rockefeller family, we are now an independent, nonprofit service that represents the cumulative knowledge and experience of more than a century of high-quality professional service to America’s most philanthropic family.

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors provides research and counsel on charitable giving, develops philanthropy programs, and offers complete program, administrative and management services for foundations and trusts. It also operates a charitable gift fund (The Philanthropic Collaborative) through which clients can make gifts inside and outside the United States, participate in funding consortia, and operate nonprofit initiatives. Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors currently serves more than 150 clients in facilitating over $200 million in annual gifts/grants to more than 50 countries. We manage national and international giving programs in, for example, the Caribbean, Tibetan regions in China, and Afghanistan.

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is one of the world’s largest philanthropy services with a full-time staff of 35 in our New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices and a network of carefully chosen affiliates and partner organizations worldwide.. Our senior staff members average 15 years each in grant-making experience with major foundations, both U.S. and international, including the Ford Foundation, the Levi-Strauss Foundation, the Wallace Fund, the SmithKline Beecham Foundation, the Ms Foundation, Pew Charitable Trusts, the New York Community Trust, the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, and the Joyce Mertz-Gilmore Foundation. Our affiliates have held leadership roles in the Council on Foundations, the Walter and Elise Haas Fund, REDF (formerly the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund) and the Open Society Foundation. Senior staff members are frequent speakers and are quoted often in national publications and media.
