Ann Brownell Sloane Joins Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors

Sloane to hold vice president position; Sloane & Hinshaw clients benefit from access to expanded team

NEW YORK, September 9, 2008 - Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors today announced that noted foundation management firm Sloane & Hinshaw will become part of the organization following a successful year-long informal working relationship between the two firms. Ann Brownell Sloane, president and CEO of Sloane & Hinshaw, joins as a vice president.

Ms. Sloane brings with her several key colleagues and a longstanding group of clients that will continue to receive her counsel and also directly benefit from the expertise and enhanced services available through Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.

Leader in foundation management has deep international experience
Ann Brownell Sloane formed Sloane & Hinshaw in 1979, eventually building a clientele that includes such eminent organizations as The Train Foundation, which awards the Civil Courage prize to individuals for acts of resistance to evil at great personal risk, and the Institute for Intercultural Studies, established by the late Margaret Mead. She previously served as Executive Vice President of the International Development Foundation, worked in the Latin America bureau of the Agency for International Development and with foreign government development agencies and nongovernmental organizations in Great Britain, France, Latin America, the Middle East, the Russian Federation and The People’s Republic of China.

A longtime member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Ms. Sloane has also served on the boards of Leake and Watts family services agency; the Non-Profit Coordinating Committee of New York; InterAmerican Foundation; Swarthmore College; and The Investment Fund for Foundations. She is an honors graduate, with distinction, of Swarthmore College.
